The Brandywine Valley Wine Trail is in Southern Chester County outside of Philadelphia, with six wineries and orchards, and historical attractions. The Brandywine Trail formed in 2003, was established to offer wine lovers the opportunity to visit wineries in the region between the Delaware and Chesapeake Rivers, learn about the process of winemaking, and sample their distinctive brands.


An orchard in the southeastern region of Pennsylvania is the site of Old Stone Cider, opened in 2016. Old English-style cider is created from apples that have been grown here since the 17th and 18th centuries. Old Stone Cider’s Tasting Room is in a historic barn. Events include wine tastings and barbecue. Borderland Vineyard in Landenberg began operation in 2006. The vineyard at Fall Line Farm creates wine from Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. The winemakers have experimented with Syrah and Malbec varieties. The winery offers tastings and seasonal events.


Kreutz Creek Vineyards and Winery began production in 1989, opened their tasting room in 2003, and have won numerous competitions. The winery produces Dry Whites, Dry Reds, Semi-Dry, Dessert and Seasonal wines including traditional Wassail. Seasonal events in the vineyard include movie nights and evening concerts. The McMaster Farm in Landenburg is the site of 1723 Vineyards. A portion of the land settled in 1723, was once owned by Benjamin Franklin. The vineyard grows Muscat Ottonel, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, and other regional varietals to create their distinctive Pennsylvania wines.


At the end of the Brandywine Valley, Wine Trail is Wayvine Winery & Vineyard in Nottingham, is operated by a friendly family who enjoys having a glass of wine with their guests. The winery celebrated their first year in operation in 2014. The family is passionate about creating exceptional wines and bottles reds and whites from varietals grown in the region. Wayvine Winery & Vineyard is open on weekends and by appointment.


Paradocx Vineyard in Landenberg has a unique story. The four owners are all practicing doctors, and have a full-time staff to manage the vineyard. They grow Vidal, Vinifera, and Chambourcin grapes to create their wines. The Paradocx Vineyard Tasting Room is open on weekends for tastings, private parties, corporate events, and special occasions. Paradocx features a Wine Club and shop and sells their wines at local Farmer’s Markets.
